It takes place <strong>every Sunday<\/strong> near Guardamar, right in the countryside. Many stands are closely lined up, offering clothing, pottery, and various knick-knacks. Other stalls entice visitors with an incredible variety of delicious dishes or fresh fruits and vegetables. The market is easy to find. Just follow the line of cars on CV 895 road. Huge salt lakes and mountains of salt can be found along the road from Alicante, particularly south of Torrevieja. Each year, more than half a million tons of salt are extracted from the salt mines of the salt lagoons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The two interconnected lagoons of Torrevieja and La Mata were declared a natural reserve in 1994 and are among the most important wetlands in Europe, boasting an exceptional climate and equally impressive flora and fauna. The plant life varies according to the salt content and moisture.
